Dangote launches rice distribution program for vulnerable in Lagos

The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has commenced distribution of 80,000 10kg bags of rice to support vulnerable individuals in Lagos State, as part of a larger effort to provide one million bags of rice nationwide.

President of the Dangote Group and Chairman of the foundation, Aliko Dangote, while speaking at the flag-off event held in Alausa emphasised that this distribution forms a fraction of the broader initiative aimed at reaching one million vulnerable people across the 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

Vanguard in a news report disclosed that the rice distribution complements the ongoing daily distribution of 12,500 loaves of bread in Lagos, demonstrating the foundation’s dedication to alleviating the burdens faced by vulnerable communities in the state.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, commended Dangote for his various initiatives aimed at alleviating the sufferings of Nigerians. 

Sanwo-Olu further praised Dangote for exhibiting compassion towards the needy in society, emphasising that the distribution of 80,000 bags of 10kg rice reflects the foundation’s prioritisation of people’s welfare over profit and wealth accumulation.
