The Lagos State Government has announced that the road beneath the collapsed Alapere Pedestrian Bridge has been cleared for traffic flow.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Media, Jubril Gawat, confirmed the road’s reopening on social media this morning.
He noted that the swift response to the Alapere Bridge incident was the result of a collective effort by first responders working tirelessly throughout the night.
This team was led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon Sola Giwa, the acting General Manager of the Lagos State Transportation Management Authority, Bakare Oki, and personnel from Lagos Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, as well as The Alapere Division of the Lagos Police Command.
Speaking to Punch this morning, Sola Giwa noted that the accident occurred at about 11 pm on Thursday and that emergency responders worked tirelessly throughout the night to clear debris and ensure that the road is cleared for traffic.
